Job summary

Carter Bankshares is seeking a Financial Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling everyday banking needs and guiding them toward appropriate solutions.

You will build relationships to improve customers' financial well-being, educate on self-service options, and route customers to the right next steps while upholding compliance and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college a plus.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a range of customer services including transaction processing, account servicing, opening new accounts and products, and referrals to partners.
• Delivers exceptional customer experience through proactive engagement and needs-based conversation.
• Identifies basic customer needs and generates referrals to branch associates, internal partners, and external vendors.
• Assists with resolution of basic account/customer issues and escalates unresolved ones.
• Supports efficient branch operations by following processes, policies, and compliance directives.
• Participates in the bank's strategic plan to grow retail banking business.
• Meets or exceeds sales goals through targeted activities and product recommendations.
• Engages in ongoing professional development through training, coaching, and learning opportunities.
• Attends bank-sponsored events to increase visibility and grow customer base.
