Job summary

Sound Credit Union in Tacoma, WA is hiring for an experienced teller/customer service role. The position involves opening new accounts, processing loans, and delivering accurate financial transactions in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

Qualifications

• $22.50–$25.00/hour, is our target starting range depending on experience.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year experience as a teller or in a customer facing banking role required.
• Experience with opening new accounts and loans required.
• Ability to travel between branches within the CentralPierceregion (Lakewood and Tacoma area).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• MUST be bondable.
• Employer sponsorship to secure or maintain employment authorization is not available.
• Notary and NMLS certifications are necessary for UA II level and higher and require US citizenship or permanent legal residency in order to be obtained as per WA State Law.
• Bonus experience (not required): Leadership, training, or sales experience.

What to Expect in This Role

No two days are the same. You may support a busy branch one day and step into a new team the next. Your ability to build relationships, adapt quickly, and provide consistent service will make you a valued partner across multiple locations.

Our Hours

To best serve our members, this position requires an in-person schedule. Shifts are typically Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM – 5:15 PM or 9:15 AM – 5:45 PM, with rotating Saturdays 8:45 AM – 1:15 PM, affording a day off during the week. This is a full-time position ranging from 35-40 hours in a typical work week. Your daily work location will vary based on branch needs primarily located withinthegreater Tacoma and Lakewood area.Our regions are designed based on locational proximity to provide you with reasonable commutes.
