Responsibilities

  • Assist with front-end credit and debit card inquiries including activation, lost/stolen cards, replacements, balance checks, and fraud alerts.
  • Handle card disputes and fraud claims; process chargebacks and manage suspense accounts.
  • Support front-end gift card inquiries; process loads and manage branch access to the system.
  • Work daily reporting including OSAB, E-Reports, and daily debit card maintenance reports.
  • Perform daily settlement of suspense and settlement accounts; posting of bank card items.

Job description

Assist in all areas of the bank cards department, including but not limited to: debit cards, credit cards, and gift cards.

Provides secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers while maintaining strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships.

Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspire confidence and build lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitate front-end credit and debit card customer service inquiries (internal/external calls, e-mails, and secure messages) including: assist in card activation, lost/stolen cards, new card creation or card replacement, balance inquiries, and resolve issues with card declines; review and assist with fraud alerts, and other breaches by contacting cardholders for appropriate action; process credit card payments; monitor and maintain instant issue card stock and cleaning supplies for all branches
  • Work credit and debit card dispute and fraud claims including process and track card related chargebacks and re-presentments in a timely and efficient manner per bank cards procedures; manage monthly suspense accounts in relation to chargebacks and re-presentments; facilitate correspondence of all related claims to ensure compliance
  • Facilitate front-end gift card customer service inquiries (internal/external calls, e-mails, and secure messages) including assist with issues related to gift cards including card declines and balance inquiries; process gift card loads; facilitate branch inventory and user access for bank employees to the gift card system
  • Work daily reporting including OSAB, E-Reports, and daily debit card maintenance reports
  • Perform daily settlement of all suspense and settlement accounts.
  • Perform daily posting of bank cards items.

Other Job Functions:

  • Provide backup for other positions within the Bank Card Department.
  • Other duties as requested by their supervisor or other management.
  • Assistance with all Utility related functions in the Bankcard Department.
Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 - 2 years’ banking experience, knowledge of bank credit and debit card operation preferred.
  • Proficient use of a PC, calculator, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of basic math calculations.
  • Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; uses grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work well within team environment presenting a positive customer service demeanor and attitude.
  • Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others.

General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:

  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate workstation.
  • Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions: atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation; changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.
