Overview

The Sales and Production Associate will perform a variety of duties in the store and production area, maintaining order, creating a welcoming environment, and fostering good customer relationships.

Responsibilities

General

• Assist in creating a hospitable work environment and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Support store operations as needed.
• Serve customers courteously and efficiently.
• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Manage merchandise according to categories and color coding.
• Ensure the store is stocked and organized per the rag out calendar.
• Assist in cleaning and maintenance of store property.
• Report theft, complaints, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Keep work areas clean and clutter-free.
• Follow the 'Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations' manual.
• Support community service and volunteers by exemplifying professionalism.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Specific Roles

Cashier/Sales Floor

• Handle cash register operations, sales reports, and bank deposits securely.
• Sort and restock merchandise, maintaining proper categories and displays.
• Answer phone calls professionally.

Sorter

• Sort at least 300 garments per hour by department.
• Assist in moving donations and hanging merchandise.

Hanger/Tagger

• Hang and ticket at least 225 clothing pieces per hour, correctly categorized and on proper hangers.
• Assist with donation processing and merchandise sorting.

Pricer

• Price at least 250 garments per hour based on style, quality, and condition.
• Maintain knowledge of brand merchandise and value.
• Assist with donation processing and ticketing.

Runner

• Move at least 225 garments per hour from the production room to the sales floor, organized by department and color.
• Maintain and straighten clothing racks, rag out merchandise as per schedule.

Bric a Brac

• Sort, clean, and price miscellaneous saleable donations daily.
• Stock shelves and arrange merchandise properly.

Shoes/Accessories

• Sort, clean, and price shoes, handbags, and accessories daily.
• Process at least 25 items per hour to the sales floor.

Domestics

• Sort, measure, and price linen items daily.
• Process at least 150 items daily to stock shelves.

Books/Records/Toys

• Sort, clean, and price merchandise daily, maintaining proper order.
• Process items to stock shelves daily.

Furniture/Electrical

• Sort, clean, test electrical and furniture donations.
• Price and record furniture items, place on sales floor, and mark down as needed.

Receiving Donations/Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of sales floor and donation areas daily.
• Accept donations courteously, following policies.
• Safeguard donated materials and equipment.
• Ensure continuous donation flow and assist with ragging and yard work as needed.
