Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Bander Statesville operator who will run the banding line and related equipment, ensuring proper placement of bands and stretchwrap and accurate tagging. You will scan barcodes, maintain neat unit presentation, and maximize equipment utilization while following safety and production standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred corrugated industry experience.

Qualifications

• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; perform basic calculations.
• Able to apply concepts of high school math.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the bander and related equipment, ensuring correct banding and stretchwrap.
• Place unit tags and cover sheets accurately and follow proper stacking patterns.
• Scan barcodes on units through the bander.
• Maintain neat units with correct number of bands per unit.
• Maximize equipment utilization by running at optimal capacity and speed.
• Complete reports such as Production Data, Machine Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
• Ensure unit quantities are correct and pull excess scrap from units.
• Submit maintenance orders and proactively maintain equipment.
• Adhere to production schedule and suggest improvements to meet cost, quality and service goals.
• Comply with all company policies, safety, and housekeeping; take on additional duties as needed.
