Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and drawings.
• Basic math skills for measurements like decimals and fractions.
• Attention to safety and precision in metal cutting.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order to locate cutting layout lines, determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Turns controls to set cutting speed, feed rate, and table angle.
• Positions and clamps stock, aligns guides, and secures workpiece.
• Performs daily calibration and maintenance of the band saw.
• Reads drawings and sets up miters as required.
