Responsibilities

• Direct and lead the band program and provide quality music instruction.
• Plan and conduct rehearsals and prepare students for performances.
• Select and prepare music appropriate for students and performances.
• Teach musical skills, including technique, theory, sight-reading, and ensemble performance.
• Manage the band calendar, including rehearsals, performances, trips, and events.
• Maintain and oversee instruments, uniforms, music, and equipment.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, behavior, and participation.
• Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, staff, and administration.
• Coordinate with other music staff and school personnel.
• Follow school policies and district procedures, including those related to student safety and supervision.
• Promote school spirit and pride through performances and participation in school activities.
• Support student leadership and teamwork within the band program.
• Handle program budgeting and purchasing in accordance with district procedures.
