Job summary

Interon IT Solutions seeks a Database Management Specialist (Junior) to provide technical expertise in DBMS usage, evaluate products, and meet user requirements for Maryland statewide systems.

The role covers defining file organization, implementing backup/recovery, ensuring data integrity, security, and recovery readiness in production environments. Collaboration with network and management teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3 years of equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in DBMS systems analysis and programming.
• At least 3 years of experience using current DBMS technologies and designing applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure servers are current with DBMS patches and security updates.
• Configure hardware/software, perform integration testing, and transition statewide systems from testing to production.
• Install and upgrade database servers and related software to support critical systems.
• Assist DBMS users and developers with SQL design, queries, stored procedures and tuning.
• Perform routine database server maintenance and proactive monitoring.
