Job summary

Ursa Major Technologies is seeking a Ballistics Analyst II to support research, design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of next-generation solid rocket motors. You will provide technical analysis inputs to design and manufacturing and deliver solutions to ballistic challenges for national security programs.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop methods, review test data, and present results to government and commercial partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 2+ years of solid rocket motors or energetics experience.
• Experience with energetics performance analysis.
• Experimental design and data analysis experience.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Proficiency with ballistic analysis tools like CLWire/SPP.
• Proficiency in Matlab, Python, C++, or Fortran.
• Eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ballistics analysis to meet programmatic requirements and inform/validate design.
• Develop, refine and validate computational methods to predict propellant and ballistic performance.
• Review test data and draw meaningful design conclusions.
• Prepare and present ballistic results to government partners and customers.
• Support formulation, modeling and testing of energetic materials.
• Support rapid response failure investigations and production deviation closures.
• Organize and present major program findings to internal and external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
