Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is seeking a Ballistic Missile Defense Commander (BMDO/BMD/U) to support a US Navy contract with ATGSD in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on technical/tactical training to enhance fleet readiness.

The position requires an active TOP SECRET clearance, US citizenship, and extensive AD/BMD experience aboard AEGIS ships; salary range $90,000–$100,000 annually with onsite work at Naval Base San Diego.

Qualifications

• At least eight (8) years of AD/BMD Mission Area experience as a qualified Tactical Action Officer or BMD Watch Officer or CSC (min 3 years).
• Minimum five (5) years aboard an AEGIS DDG and/or CG.
• Extensive experience with Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF) and Multi-System Automated Remote-Control Interface (MARCI).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and tactical support for FBP, FST-U, STW, and BMD distributed training to ships.
• Validate and implement technical plans, test plans, and validate system functional operations; monitor and document event execution.
• Develop scenario scripts for FBP, FST-U, STW, and BMD distributed scenarios.
• Distribute and conduct scenarios for the ATGSD Battle Lab Modeling and Simulations operations center; set up and configure battle lab distributed, live, or virtual events.
• Conduct post-briefings and produce detailed after-action reports (AARs) including technical feedback.
• Schedule and conduct monthly Fleet AIC training.

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivatedBallistic Missile Defense Commander (BMDO/BMD/U) to support a US Navy contract with the Afloat Training Group San Diego (ATGSD) inSan Diego, CA. The chosen individual will support technical/tactical training efforts for ATGSDFleet Battle Lab. This role is pivotal in ensuring our ship's operational readiness and effectiveness, demanding strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment.
Typical Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and tactical support for FBP, FST-U, STW, and BMD distributed training to ships.

Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.
Typical Pay Range:The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $90,000 - 100,000/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.
Existing TOP SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim TOP SECRET security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least eight (8) years of AD/BMD Mission Area experience as a qualified Tactical Action Officer or BMD Watch Officer or CSC (for a minimum of three years).
  • As part of this experience, a minimum of five (5) years must have been served onboard an AEGIS DDG and/or CG.
• Warfare experience in implementation of Task Group Concept as an Air Defense Warfare Commander (B/SUWC/BMD) or as a senior staff member for a Task Group/Force Commander, or as a Senior Facilitator with equivalent experience training warfare commanders or senior staff members.
• At least five (5) years scenario development/training/operation experience with Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF); Multi-System Automated Remote-Control Interface (MARCI).
• At least five (5) years of experience with Tactical Data Information Link generation systems supporting LOS Link 11(A) /16(J), Satellite-J, Link 16, Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M); Tactical Voice/Data Communications.
• Experience in naval warfare operations or conducting training for naval warfare or equivalent joint experience.
• Knowledge of:
  • The Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM)
  • Composite Warfare Commander construct
  • Command and Control, regarding surveillance, engagement and planning functions required for each of the various numbered fleets
  • Staff and Fleet operations and planning procedures
  • Fleet Synthetic Training architecture
  • Ballistic Missile Defense Planning and Operations (BMD Officer/CSC preferred)
• Proficiency with common productivity software.
• Excellent communication skills.
