Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is seeking a part‑time Ballet Instructor for Montlake Community Center in Seattle. The role focuses on developmentally appropriate ballet lessons that strengthen bodies and minds and foster expressive learning in a welcoming studio environment.

You will plan weekly classes, supervise participants, and handle basic attendance and safety tasks, while maintaining professional communication with ARC staff and site supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience teaching ballet.
  • Experience working with class participants in recreational or educational settings.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate ballet lesson plans.
  • Lead and implement weekly ballet classes with a focus on foundational skills and creative expression.
  • Set up and clean up studio space before and after each lesson.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment.
  • Supervise participants and maintain professional class standards.
  • Complete attendance and incident reports.
