Job summary

The Baler Operator will safely operate the baling system and related equipment to process corrugated and paper scrap, supporting production with accurate reporting and housekeeping.

You will monitor inventories, perform inspections, submit maintenance requests, and participate in continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and safety.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, ability to work in a manufacturing setting, and forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform physical work and follow procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate baler and related equipment to produce quality, properly secured scrap bales.
• Operate the hogger to process scrap materials.
• Maintain accurate production and bale reporting records.
• Monitor and maintain inventories of baling wire, scrap tags, and finished scrap bales.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required.
• Identify equipment issues and submit maintenance work orders promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine inspections and support preventative maintenance efforts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and work instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by recommending process and operational enhancements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
