Job summary

Wisconsin Converting, Inc is seeking a Baler Operator in Green Bay to support daily production by processing paper and cardboard scrap and operating baling equipment to create finished bales.

You will safely transport bales with a forklift, maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow all safety policies. The role offers a four-day workweek and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old due to operation of power-driven baling and material-handling equipment.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Baler or recycling equipment experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect scrap bins and empty contents.
  • Load scrap materials into baler and process into finished bales.
  • Wire and secure completed bales according to procedures.
  • Operate a forklift to move finished bales to trailers or storage areas.
  • Segregate and organize bales by material specifications.
  • Record production and scrap data in company systems and use scales as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Location: 1689 Morrow St.Green Bay, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts
Hours: 5:00am - 3:00 pm or 6:00am - 4:00pm

The Baler Operator supports daily production operations by collecting and processing paper and cardboard scrap materials throughout the facility. This position operates baling equipment, prepares and secures finished bales, and safely transports bales using a forklift. The Baler Operator plays an important role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collect scrap bins containing paper bags, cardboard, and other production scrap from the production floor, empty contents, and return bins to designated areas.
  • Load scrap materials into and operate baler equipment to process material into finished bales.
  • Wire and secure completed bales according to company procedures.
  • Safely operate a forklift to transport finished bales from conveyor systems to trailers or designated storage areas.
  • Segregate and organize bales according to established material specifications.
  • Accurately record production and scrap information in company systems and utilize scales as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
  • Follow all applicable company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Frequently lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manually handle and load loose paper and cardboard scrap materials into the baler, including reaching into and over scrap collection bins.
  • Safely move throughout the production area and work around moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Regular exposure to paper and cardboard materials, paper dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • May be exposed to odors from printing inks and other materials used in the manufacturing process.
  • Required to follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
