Job summary

BESTAFF is seeking a reliable Baler Operator for our Jeffersonville, IN facility. This role supports baling recyclable materials on 2nd and 3rd shifts, with pay at $18.50 per hour and a temp-to-hire path.

The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and strict adherence to PPE and safety rules. Responsibilities include feeding and sorting materials, operating baler equipment, tying and stacking bales, and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior baler or forklift experience is a plus (training provided).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor baler equipment to compress and bind recyclable materials.
• Feed, sort, and load recyclable materials into the baler.
• Securely tie, stack, and stage bales for storage or transport.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of material volume, weights, and bale counts.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks and cleanup as needed.

• Operate and monitor baler equipment to compress and bind recyclable materials.
• Feed, sort, and load recyclable materials into the baler.
• Securely tie, stack, and stage bales for storage or transport.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance to ensure safe operation.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Maintain accurate records of material volume, weights, and bale counts.
• Communicate any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or workflow issues to supervisors.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks, including material handling and cleanup as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience operating balers, forklifts, or similar warehouse machinery a plus (training provided if needed).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions.

Warehouse/industrial setting with varying temperatures. Exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment. Requires wearing PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
