Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift seeks a Baler / Forklift Operator to support the thrift store by operating baler and forklift equipment, feeding materials into the baler hopper, and ensuring tight, secure bale formation for storage. You will follow safety protocols and maintain equipment to maximize space and efficiency.

Additionally, you will organize donated items, monitor quality and documentation, and collaborate with team members to meet production targets while supporting recycling and waste

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in thrift, retail, warehouse, or back-of-house environments preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate baler machines and forklifts to process and transport materials such as clothing, textiles, cardboard, or plastics.
• Feed materials into the baler's hopper and monitor controls for proper compaction into tight bales.
• Securely tie and label bales before transporting to designated storage areas using a forklift.
• Maintain equipment including baler machines and trash compactors, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Sort and organize donated items with proper documentation and placement.
• Follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and coordinate operations to optimize processes.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including baler and storage areas.
• Collaborate with team to achieve production targets and support thrift store operations.
• Support recycling and waste reduction efforts in line with company policies.
