Job summary

Position SummaryThe Balancing Specialist is responsible for balancing core applications, correspondent banks, general ledger accounts and internal checking accounts.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare account reconciliations on core applications – checking, savings, loans, safe deposit and time deposits to the general ledger from core reports.Prepare account reconcilations on correspondent bank accounts.Prepare account reconcilations on general ledger and internal checking accounts.Manage a number of general ledger balances to application totals using Core Balancing tool.Reconcile Teller and ATM cash and prepare variation reports.Reconcile official checks and perform various functions to support the program.Reconcile Interest on Lawyers Trust accounts and submit interest earned to each states Bar Foundation.Reconcile Florida Documentary Stamps and submit report for filing and payment.Reconcile monthly Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and FHLB reconciliations to identify differences.Review reports and reconcilements of banks purchased for conversion to our system.Work closely with other departments on research to make sure entries clear timely.Support internal and external audits through timely and accurate completion of all reconcilements.Education & ExperienceKnowledge of:Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsProficiency in accounting and finance systemsAbility to:Complete work accurately to prevent/limit number of errorsMaintain confidentiality of informationAnalyze and interpret numerical dataPerform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressuresSolve problems independently while applying logic and discretionEducation and Training:Requires a High School Diploma with an Associate’s degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping or equivalent banking experience a plus.Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.Compensation and BenefitsSalary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends.
