Job summary

Hy-Vee Bakery is seeking a friendly Wrapper to join our team. You will wrap, weigh, label, and stock bakery items, ensuring beautiful presentation and accurate signage. You will greet customers and assist with orders while maintaining clean work areas.

As a final inspection step before items reach the floor, you will uphold Hy-Vee's standards for freshness and appearance. Prioritize accuracy, teamwork, and sanitation, with the goal of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced bakery

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with attention to detail.
• Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers accurately.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide friendly service.
• Wrap, weigh, and label bakery products accurately.
• Stock cases and maintain appealing presentation of items.
• Inspect products before display to ensure quality and appearance.
• Ensure accurate signage and availability of advertised items; notify Bakery Manager of out-of-stock items.
• Take customer orders at the bakery counter and answer phones promptly.
• Assist in decorating and writing on cakes when needed.
• Support bakers by pulling products from freezers and handling similar tasks.
• Maintain proper sanitation and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Collaborate with team to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
