Job summary

Safeway is seeking a bakery associate to prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts using established recipes. You will measure, mix, shape, bake, and decorate, while ensuring quality and presentation. The role includes maintaining a clean work area, labeling ingredients, and stocking cases for a great customer experience.

You will assist customers with product questions and special orders, in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy, organization and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior baking or food production experience preferred.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, cakes and desserts using established recipes and methods.
• Measure, mix, shape and bake products; decorate cakes and specialty desserts.
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe work area; rotate and label ingredients.
• Keep cases well-stocked and visually appealing for customers.
• Assist customers with questions and special orders, providing friendly service.
