Job summary

7 Leaves Cafe is seeking a Shift Lead in Montebello, CA to support the manager by executing cafe operations when the manager is not present. This role involves delegating tasks, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring smooth operations during 25–30 hours per week.

Ideal candidates will lift 50 lbs as needed, demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, and efficiently manage bakery tasks in a fast-paced setting while staying adaptable and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology and computer systems (Excel, attendance system, ordering systems).
• Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage bakery operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Prolonged standing, stooping, and walking.
• Eagerness to learn and build on constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all operations are consistently maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present
• Remaining calm in stressful or unexpected situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members adapting to the circumstances
• Communicating clearly and effectively with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication
• Creating a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing
• Assisting team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance
• Executing opening duties, closing duties, and general bakery operations and is consistent with punctuality and attendance on scheduled shifts
• Ensuring all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly
• Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned
