Quality Dairy Company is seeking a Full-Time Sanitation Worker to support nightly operations in Lansing, MI. The role starts at 6pm and requires adherence to GMP and safety standards while maintaining a clean, efficient facility.

Job Duties:

• Follows the Quality Dairy Company Code of Excellence
• Ensures sanitation standard operating procedures, including master cleaning schedule are followed
• Assists with training of new employees to facilitate their understanding of the sanitation procedures
• Maintains cleaning materials and processes on a daily basis to maximize sanitation efficiency
• Maintains a ‘lean manufacturing’ environment that achieves results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost on a daily basis
• Recommends methods for improvement in equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
• Communicates maintenance needs to Sanitation Supervisor and/or Sanitation Crew leader
• Follows policies, procedures and GMP’s
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment and participates in housekeeping programs
• Assures departmental records are complete, accurate and legible
• Assures lock out/tag out procedures are followed
• Assures all equipment is accurately re-assembled and ready for production
• Reports any malfunction, missing or broken part to Sanitation Supervisor and/or Sanitation Crew Leader no later than end of shift to assure prompt repair or replacement
• Effectively operates all sanitation equipment and materials
• Meets daily sanitation needs within allotted time
• Assists with other assigned Bakery functions

Essential Skills, Abilities and Physical Demands:

• Proven ability to operate all equipment involved in the sanitation parameters of the shift in their area of responsibility
• Ability to move quickly and cover a large area
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, personalities, departments and hours
• Required to follow all safety procedures and GMP’s
• Thorough knowledge of machine set-up
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize time and meet quality expectations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, lift and pull repetitively
• Exposure to temperature and noise extremes and hot items
• Ability to remain flexible in scheduling to cover weekends, holidays and a 7 day a week operation
• Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess a strong desire to learn and improve

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to understand instructions clearly and effectively
• Ability to communicate with Sanitation Supervisor and Sanitation Crew Leader in English and meet daily as well as weekly goals
• Ability to communicate openly and freely with Supervisors and Managers in English
• Requires judgment and decision making
• Working knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures and other pertinent OSHA, EPA and MIOSHA practices
• Ability to work with and through other people to accomplish sanitation demands, adapt to changing circumstances, personalities and hours
