Responsibilities

• Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand.
• Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about various products.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude.
• Sets up special-order tables during peak hours and shopping days; builds displays as needed.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced with clear signage; handles spoiled or close-to-expiration product.
• May assist with production of breads, pastries and other baked goods; adheres to production logs and recipes.
• Maintains department sanitation; follows cleaning schedules and OSHA requirements.
• Assists with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries; operates a power jack if trained.
• Assists with baling cardboard; training provided.
• Reports shortages or overages to manager; supports department and store operations.
