Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Middlebury, IN is seeking a bakery planner-scheduler to co-lead production schedules for assigned manufacturing areas.

You will plan long term schedules to fill all customer orders, manage inventory, and coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to ensure timely deliveries. The role requires 1-3 years of purchasing experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent relative experience.
• MRP and scheduling experience highly desirable.
• 1–3 years of prior purchasing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-leads planning, implementation and issuance of production schedules for assigned manufacturing areas.
• Resolves production schedule conflicts and orders raw materials to fill customer orders.
• Proficient in inventory management and vendor communication to ensure timely deliveries.
• Update pricing changes from vendors and negotiate pricing where needed.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Merchandising and other support groups to optimize coverage for trends and promotions.

Practices 200% Safety Accountability (Self and Others).**What You'll be Doing:*** Plans and executes long term business objectives by creating production schedules to fill all customer orders* Manages inventory and ordering of raw stock, finished goods and packaging supplies. Interacts directly with the Purchasing group and vendors* Tracks current orders through communication with vendors and distributors to ensure timely delivery* Researches discrepancies in orders and works with vendors to expedite deliveries as needed to maintain production schedules.* Updates all pricing changes received from vendors.* Works with vendors to negotiate pricing and evaluates competitive pricing as needed.* Works closely with Merchandise Planning teams for optimal coverage of changing trends, sales, promotions and major timelines.
