Job summary

Albertsons Companies seeks an experienced Bakery Department leader to direct daily bakery operations, ensuring product quality and exciting in-store displays. You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, and coordinate inventory and training to meet sales and service goals.

You will champion customer service initiatives, oversee product preparation and merchandising, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while driving efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Champions corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed division customer service goals.
• Plans, organizes and directs day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department, exercising independent judgment and discretion; conducts daily inspections of all Meat department sections and initiates corrective measures to ensure compliance with quality, date standards, sanitation, safety and security requirements.
• Oversees and assists with bakery duties such as proofing, baking, decorating, slicing and packaging fresh bakery products.
• Implements promotional and seasonal displays; prevents shrink and controls expenses; maintains daily log sheets, purchase reports, sales and labor logs and records.
• Orders, checks, receives and controls inventory to maintain adequate quantity, quality and freshness; stocks and rotates product; maintains coolers and freezers; conducts inventories and handles paperwork.
• Ensures bakery product quality, baking and decorating standards are met and merchandising is correct with proper signing and labeling; follows health and food safety standards.
• Assists customers with special orders, makes product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling; makes intercom announcements.
• Ensures cleanliness of sales floor, work area, equipment and retail cases; handles customer relations and monitors reports.
• Supervises, motivates, trains and participates in hiring of Bakery Department personnel; schedules staff to ensure coverage and service levels; communicates goals and performance to the team.
