Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Lead Cake Decorator to prepare and decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods while mentoring new decorators. The role focuses on consistent product quality, accurate customer orders, and strong service in a fast-paced bakery environment.

You will train teammates, maintain attractive displays, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Proficiency in decorating tools and basic computer skills are valued for successful daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience decorating cakes in a retail or professional setting.
• Friendly, service-oriented attitude with leadership ability.
• Knowledge of bakery equipment, tools, and ingredients.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with cake and bakery orders in-store or by phone.
• Train, mentor, and support cake decorators while promoting safety and teamwork.
• Prepare, decorate, and finish cakes and pastries to company standards and customer requests.
• Merchandise and rotate products to keep displays fresh and attractive.
• Follow Bakery Safety Program, policies, weights and measures, and health code regulations.
