Parva Bakeshop and Cafe in Jackson Heights is looking for a Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations, including opening or closing, food preparation, cleaning, and organization.

No prior experience required, full training provided. You will work with the kitchen team in a fast-paced bakery/café environment, and we value reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, bakery, restaurant, or food-service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Full training will be provided. We are willing to train the right person who is motivated and willing to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Able to follow directions and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes or supplies when necessary.
• Must be available for opening and/or closing shifts, including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening or closing the kitchen.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with daily food preparation.
• Wash, cut, portion, and organize ingredients.
• Follow recipes, preparation instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Assist cooks and bakers with kitchen tasks as needed.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces clean and organized.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive, organize, and properly store food and supplies.
• Check inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.
• Properly label, date, and store prepared food and ingredients.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Take out trash and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Help with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery/café environment.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
