Job summary

Kroger in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Bakery Department Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean bakery area. This role supports daily operations, pricing, inventory and promotions while upholding Kroger's safety and quality standards.

You will assist customers, help manage schedules and coordinate with store management to meet department goals. A food handler permit is required; prior bakery/retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude
• Communicate department information to associates
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in the performance appraisal process
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
