The Fresh Market in Brentwood, TN is seeking a Bakery Department Lead who will support the Bakery Department Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience and leading the team with care and purpose. You will help run daily operations, coach staff, and ensure the department reflects our standards of hospitality and excellence.

You will monitor schedules, assist with inventory, and collaborate with peers to drive store success while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or hospitality.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven track record of delivering guest-focused experiences while meeting performance goals.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bakery Department Manager in leading daily operations and coaching the team.
• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory and support ordering processes to minimize shrink.
• Act as a resource for team members in the manager's absence.
• Model hospitality and engage guests to drive positive experiences.
• Support merchandising and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to drive store success.
