Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a Bakery team member to ensure baked goods are prepared and displayed according to standards and to support profitability through strong customer service.

You will train partners, manage inventory, and collaborate with upper management to optimize sales and food quality. The role requires flexibility, safety awareness, and commitment to excellent service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education.
• Must be 18 years old or older; Partners must be 21+ to drive per policy.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign and direct work with upper management.
• Co-manages inventory; review historical data on sales, ads and promotions; ensure in-stock levels.
• Review profit, loss, sales, shrink and labor data with the department manager.
• Maintain and improve sales, financial results, public relations, product quality and work standards.
• Enforce quality control and food safety; rotate dated products properly.
• Inspect baked goods for aroma, flavor, texture and color.
• Assist bakery production: preparing, packaging, labeling, catering and occasional delivery.
• Decorate baked goods and merchandise displays; promote themes.
• Check inventory on trucks; ensure accuracy of inventory and paperwork.
• Promote product sales via suggestive selling and attractive displays.
• Maintain clean, safe, sanitary work and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly, customer-service oriented attitude; greet customers and take orders.
