Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates while communicating department information.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve store goals.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and informed about bakery specials.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment, offering samples to customers.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Use bakery equipment according to guidelines.
• Partner with store management to implement a department business plan.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for Sales/Merchandising supervisor.
• Stay current with ads and inform associates.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Assist in budgeting and financial reporting.
• Schedule routine price changes and manage inventory process.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify when repairs are needed.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts constructively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in customer/business information.
• Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues.
