Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience.
• Excellent communication to provide clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and identify root causes.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Mentor team members and promote safety.
• Completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Direct staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for the team.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Manage P&L, drive sales, and maintain shrink within the department.
• Model fast, friendly, and effective customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Ensure team training and adherence to company standards.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and staff to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
