Moser's Grocery Store in Holts Summit, MO is hiring a Bakery/Deli Manager to lead daily bakery and deli operations, supervise staff, and drive sales with a focus on quality and customer service. This is a full-time, employee-owned role within a fast-paced grocery store environment.

You’ll develop team members, manage inventory and promotions, ensure food safety, and contribute to store profitability while upholding brand standards and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery, deli, food service, grocery or retail management.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math, financial literacy, and inventory management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the bakery and deli departments.
• Supervise, schedule, hire, train, and develop team members.
• Drive sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and waste reduction.
• Manage inventory, ordering, merchandising, and product displays.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and brand quality standards are maintained.
• Prepare, package, and present bakery and deli products according to recipes and procedures.
• Execute promotions, upselling, and local store marketing initiatives.
• Operate POS and ensure transaction accuracy.
• Monitor production levels, portion control, and freshness standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bakery/deli environment.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in bakery, deli, food service, grocery, or retail management preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic math, financial literacy, and inventory management skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with bakery, deli, or food production operations is a plus
• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Flexible full-time availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store bakery and deli environment
• Exposure to hot cooking equipment and cold storage areas
• Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
