Job summary

Kroger in Michigan is seeking a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create an outstanding customer experience by delivering friendly service, preparing bakery items to order, and maintaining a clean, safe environment that invites guests to return.

You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, promote deli/bakery specials, stock and label merchandise, monitor temperatures and quality, and adhere to food safety regulations to ensure fresh,, safe products.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Ability to perform basic math for transactions and portioning.
• Willingness to obtain a current food handlers permit after employment.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials and promote items to meet customer needs.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink and ensure quality.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and ensure proper temperatures are maintained.
