Qualifications

• Customer service orientation to help customers in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear interactions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for transactions and inventory
• Must obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they ordered and ensure correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use equipment in bakery (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, mix ingredients, and use kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
