Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a Bakery/Deli Clerk in Cincinnati to create an outstanding customer experience. You will help prepare items per customer requests, inform customers about specials, and maintain fresh, inviting displays while following food safety and quality standards.

As part of the team, you will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals, monitor temperature logs, label and inventory items, and ensure accurate product portions.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Knowledge of basic math for handle cash and measurements.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit after hire.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and promotions.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items based on customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, slicers, ovens) according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and instructions.
• Measure and mix ingredients with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
