Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. You will prepare bakery items per orders, offer samples, and keep the deli and bakery sections stocked, labeled, and organized.

You will assist with specials knowledge, ensure fresh product and accurate portions, and work with temperature logs and safety guidelines to serve customers efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and recipes.
• Label and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell by dates.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
