Key Responsibilities
- Offer product samples in Bakery/Deli to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Operate bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients properly.
- Check product quality, review expiration dates, and take necessary actions.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to management.
- Understand store layout to locate products efficiently for customers.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Foster trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and making them feel valued.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
