Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Using all bakery equipment per company guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
- Preparing foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients with various utensils and equipment.
- Properly preparing, packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
- Checking product quality, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Using kitchen equipment safely, such as stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout and locating products for customers.
- Staying updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Maintaining knowledge of department products to assist and suggest to customers.
- Monitoring inventory and stock levels, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Practicing preventive maintenance on equipment and reporting repairs needed.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents to management.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts constructively and cooperatively.
