Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods according to recipes, and properly label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
• Maintain store layout knowledge to locate products for customers.
• Stay current with store ads, product knowledge, and inventory conditions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and maintain logs.
• Create a welcoming environment, answer customer questions, and promote trust and respect among staff.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and inspect equipment.
• Handle customer or employee accidents appropriately.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with honesty and integrity.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
