Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods according to instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following recipes with appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
11. Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
14. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay current with store ads and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and providing excellent service.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
22. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
23. Report accidents involving customers or employees.
24. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
25. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
26. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
27. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
28. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
29. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:
