Bakery/Deli Clerk (Finance)

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer Service skills

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
6. Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following food safety and temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.
10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
11. Properly use kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products upon request.
15. Stay current with ads and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
22. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
23. Report customer or employee accidents.
24. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict appropriately.
25. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
26. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
27. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
28. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary Range: $18.25 - $24.61
