Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
- Informing customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
- Recommending deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
- Using all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
- Preparing foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
- Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
- Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Properly using kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, etc.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
- Understanding store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer questions.
- Monitoring inventory and stock conditions.
- Ensuring proper temperatures and maintaining temperature logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among associates.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Practicing preventive equipment maintenance and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment and managing conflicts effectively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
- Supporting interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
