Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrink.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods per temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients using various utensils and equipment.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate action.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Understanding store layout to assist customers in locating products.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer questions.
  • Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and logging temperatures.
  • Promoting trust and respect among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
  • Managing conflicts professionally.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
