Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scales, fryer, steamer, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay updated with current and upcoming ads and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory/stocking conditions and report discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintain logs.
19. Promote trust and respect among associates.
20. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
21. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
22. Reinforce safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
23. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
24. Report customer or employee accidents.
25. Work cooperatively in high-paced environments.
26. Manage conflicts professionally.
27. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
