Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness and review 'sell by' dates.
11. Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with store promotions, seasonal, and special ads.
16. Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
22. Display a positive attitude and practice preventive maintenance.
23. Report accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities.
24. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
