Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.
- Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.
- Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
- Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming store promotions and advertisements.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperature logs for cases and coolers.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
- Follow all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts appropriately.
- Act with honesty and integrity, respecting customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
