Responsibilities include:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
- Operate bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
- Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to management.
- Understand store layout to assist customers effectively.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Promote trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making them feel valued.
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and report to management.
- Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
