Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery and deli items as per customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
- Understand store layout and locate products as requested by customers.
- Stay updated on current, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents to management.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable, cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.

Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
