Role Responsibilities:
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Provide fresh products ordered by customers, ensuring correct portions to minimize shrink.
  • Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
  • Operate bakery equipment per guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  • Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and seasonal items.
  • Maintain knowledge of department products to answer questions and make suggestions.
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
  • Foster trust and respect among team members.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance and report damages or repairs needed.
  • Notify management of accidents or incidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
