Responsibilities

As a Bakery/Deli Clerk, your essential duties include:

• Preparing items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Providing customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
• Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients.
• Checking product quality and reviewing 'sell by' dates.
• Maintaining store layout knowledge and product location assistance.
• Staying current with store promotions and product knowledge.
• Maintaining inventory and stock conditions.
• Ensuring proper temperatures and maintaining logs.
• Promoting a respectful environment among staff and customers.
• Adhering to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions and accidents.
