Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
  • Using bakery equipment safely and according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods per recipes and maintaining proper food temperatures.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients accurately.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
  • Checking product quality and expiration dates.
  • Properly using kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, and fryers.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Knowing the store layout to assist customers efficiently.
  • Staying current with store promotions and product knowledge.
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and proper storage temperatures.
  • Promoting trust and respect among team members.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and managing conflicts professionally.
